This is a precisely formulated nutritional glider feed that exactly matches the official recipe. It provides a balanced blend of protein, natural sugars, and calcium. Use it as a nightly feed alongside a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to ensure a healthy, balanced diet. This convenient mix is ideal for sugar glider owners, breeders, and rescues: you can try it as a sample pack, or keep larger 24 or 48  tablespoon packs on hand for regular colony feedings or simply have a supply available on hand.

The Sample Pack contains 4 Tbsp of LGRS Suggie Soup Mix – enough for one batch of Suggie Soup. It’s perfect for new owners or small rescues that want to trial the official recipe. Since 4 Tbsp makes one full batch, this pack delivers all the nutrients needed to prepare a single feeding portion. Use it to introduce your glider to the recipe and observe acceptance.

Also perfect for travel or emergency feedings; single-glider feeding; adding variety.

Recipe:

  • Hard boil Egg and set aside for cooling.
  • Warm honey by placing jar of honey in hot water while egg cools.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a blender, mix one entire sample pack (4 Tbsp) of Suggie Soup Mix with the recipe liquids: 1 cup mango and 1 cup papaya juice (pureed fruit or juiced), 2 cups calcium & vitamin D fortified orange juice, 2 cups warmed pasteurized filtered honey (do not use raw honey, comb, or unfiltered).
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Add egg and ¼ cup plain low-fat yogurt (12g protein per half pint)

  • Blend and Freeze: Blend all ingredients until smooth. Portion into ice-cube trays or freezer-safe containers and freeze solid.
  • Thaw Before Serving: Thaw one cube (or portion) per glider each evening in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

The recipe is also on the product label for convenience.

  • Freeze for Freshness: Store prepared Suggie Soup frozen to maintain vitamins and prevent spoilage. Use airtight containers or ice-cube trays with lids. (Silicone ice cube trays can be very nice for this).

  • Shelf Life: Frozen batches can be kept for several months. Refrigerate thawed portions and use within 24 hours. Discard any leftover thawed portion after one feeding to avoid bacterial growth.

Feeding Guidelines:

Serving Size: Give 1-2 tablespoons of the prepared Suggie Soup per glider per night. Most gliders should have 1 tablespoon per night, while malnourished or underfed gliders should be fed somewhere closer to 2 tablespoons until their weight returns to normal.

Accompaniment: Always serve Suggie Soup alongside fresh fruits and vegetables. Safe examples include apples, pears, blackberries, blackberries, papaya, mango, sweet potato, peas, carrots, and leafy greens like bok choy, dandelion greens, and kale. Full list Here.

Aim for a variety – 60–65% of the diet should be produce to prevent over-consumption of sugars and ensure fiber/ calcium. Adding a sugar glider calcium to their food at this step is a good idea.

Serve one tablespoon fruit mix and one tablespoon vegetable mix along side previously prepared and thawed LGRS cube.
