A: We do take custom orders and would be happy to talk with you about what you would like for your sugar gliders. Custom orders will require time for us to purchase and receive specialized fabric for the cage sets and as such will have longer handling times.

Our fabric cage sets and bonding can be either hand washed or machine washed in cold water only and glider safe detergent options. Using a fabric mesh laundry washing bag would provide the best results. 

Mesh sugar glider cage sets will require a fabric mesh laundry washing bag, cold water, and mesh cubes must be hand washed.

A: Yes! Each set comes with 50 cage hooks, which is enough to fit most cages. We also sell additional if you feel like you will need more.

A: All of our fabric cage sets are made of either fleece or fleece and cotton. The attachment points are made of a low tensile strength braided heat fusible material that has been used on over 10,000 cage sets and has a proven track record for both durability and sugar glider safety.

Mesh cage sets are made of fleece and plastic hardware cloth that has been used to produce sugar glider cage sets by the community for many years.

A:The summer nail trimming bonding pouch is a product that we created around 2012 to help solve the difficulty of trimming sugar glider nails.

It functions in two ways, it can be used as a bonding pouch during hotter times of the year and it can also be used in conjunction with your favorite pair of slant edged nail trimmers. Simply place your sugar glider in the pouch and use the slant edge trimmers to easily and with less stress on the glider trim the nails.

Q: How do I clean your PLA products?

A: We recommend a simple cleaning maintenance routine:

• Clean items once a week using a pet-safe cage cleaner, wiping along the textured layer lines.
• Give each item a thorough cleaning monthly or whenever needed with lukewarm water and mild dish soap. Gently brush along the textured layer lines with a soft-bristled dish brush or toothbrush to remove debris caught in the grooves.
• Shake away excess water and use a towel to dry each item thoroughly.
• Suggested cleaners include Rescue, Dawn Original dish soap, and diluted white vinegar.
• Suggested cleaning products include Rescue, Dawn Original dish soap, white vinegar, diluted chlorhexidine, and diluted F10 veterinary disinfectant.
• WARNING: Keep items away from high temperatures, as PLA can soften or warp when heated. Never place them in the dishwasher or clean them with boiling water. Use only cool or lukewarm water.

Q: I heard 3D prints are porous and trap bacteria, is that true?

A: Many common cage accessories have some degree of porosity, from wooden ledges to fabric cage sets. With FDM-produced PLA items, references to “porosity” generally concern the fine grooves between printed layers, where residue and bacteria can collect. This surface texture is distinct from the absorbency of materials such as wood and fabric.

We design and manufacture our Habitat Collection in-house, with close attention to surface quality, durability, and thorough cleaning. Our recommended brush-cleaning routine targets the grooves between layers, removing trapped residue and preparing the surface for treatment with appropriate cleaning agents. Attention to these details starts with the design and continues through production, creating products built for repeated cleaning and long-term use.

Q:What if heavy chewing leaves a sharp or jagged edge?

A: Rats may eventually leave rough spots on well-loved accessories. Minor surface roughness can be smoothed with 120–220 grit sandpaper or a standard nail file. Remove all sanding dust, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, and dry before returning the item to the cage. Replace any item with cracks, loose pieces, or damage that compromises its strength or mounting points.

Q: How much weight can your ledges and shelves hold?

A: Our ledges and shelves are designed specifically for small animals, with reinforced structures and mounting hardware built to support multiple animals at once—even your chunky crew! Our larger products have been tested with loads well above the combined weight of the animals that could comfortably fit on them. Secure installation and suitable cage bars are essential for proper support.

Q: Are the pigments and colors safe for my pets?

A: We use premium PLA filament with color incorporated throughout the material, rather than paint or a surface coating. There is no painted finish to peel or flake off. Like the accessories themselves, the material is not intended to be eaten. Remove an item if your pet is ingesting pieces.

Q: Can other small animals use these accessories?

A: Customers also use our accessories in mouse, hamster, and bird setups. Suitability depends on the animal’s size, chewing habits, and the individual product. Choose appropriately sized accessories and openings, and monitor how your pet uses them.

We do not recommend our PLA accessories for chinchillas as they are persistently chewers and ingest the material. PLA is also heat-sensitive, so keep these products away from heat lamps and other high-temperature areas, including heated areas of reptile enclosures.
